Hood Church and The Rhema Word Outreach Center are plundering hell in populating heaven.
We come into the streets with a deep belief in what the Bible reveals as a “double blessing”—that when we pour out love, provision, and compassion into the lives of others, God not only meets them where they are, but He also fills and strengthens those who give. Scripture reminds us in Luke 6:38 that when we give, it comes back “pressed down, shaken together, and running over.” And in Isaiah 61:7, we see God’s heart to replace shame with a double portion of joy and restoration. This is the heartbeat behind everything we do—believing that God moves powerfully on both sides of the exchange.
At our community outreach events, we step into the streets to serve, to love, and to stand in the gap for those who feel forgotten. We bring hot meals, clothing, prayer, and encouragement—but what we are really bringing is the message that no life is beyond redemption. As we give, something sacred happens. Those who come receive hope, dignity, and a reminder that they are seen by God. And those who serve experience a deep renewal themselves—a strengthening of faith, a softening of heart, and the joy that comes from being used by God.
This is the double blessing in action. It’s not just about meeting physical needs; it’s about a divine exchange where brokenness meets compassion and both are transformed. The streets become more than a place of hardship—they become a place of encounter. A place where God’s love reaches into difficult situations and begins to rewrite stories. Where one prayer can lift a burden, and one act of kindness can restore a sense of worth.
So we go out—not just to give, but to participate in what God is already doing. We go believing that every meal served, every conversation shared, and every prayer lifted carries eternal value. Because in God’s kingdom, when love is poured out, it never returns empty—it multiplies. And in that multiplication, lives are changed, hearts are healed, and a double blessing is released over everyone involved.
