Don’t miss the kickoff for the 10th annual Solomons Dragon Boat Festival! Join us on Friday, August 21, at 6 p.m. with the beloved Dotting of the Eye Ceremony outside Our Lady Star of the Sea School. Participants are encouraged to awaken the dragons by painting their eyes—an ancient ritual believed to breathe life into the boats and bring good fortune to racers. All are welcome to help paint the eyes, and then join us on Saturday to watch your dragon race down the Patuxent River!
There *may* even be a Flash Mob, so wear red and arrive by 5 pm if you want to dance!
