Authors Tamara Gaumond and Jean O’Brien Gibbons will discuss their new book (Reedy Press) about vacationing in beloved Door County, Wisconsin. Boasting miles of Lake Michigan and Green Bay shoreline, picturesque villages, and nautical flair, Door County is an idyllic Wisconsin vacation destination. With pristine beaches, natural wonders, robust art and theater scene, all-season sporting opportunities, unique restaurants, breweries and wineries, and activities for kids, Door County truly offers something for everyone.

Tara and Jean bring an unmatched enthusiasm for Door County. , you’ll discover enchanting destinations and exciting activities that will keep you returning year after year.

About Tamara: Tamara Gaumond is an architect, writer, and author of 100 Things to Do in Rockford Before You Die. She works as a content strategist for a transportation engineering firm with locations in Chicago and Milwaukee. Tamara considers Door County a second home and enjoys spending time on the peninsula as a family getaway and writing destination.

About Jean: Jean O’Brien Gibbons is a mechanical engineer with expertise in the design of systems that heat, ventilate, and cool complex buildings such as hospitals. Her love for the environment and Door County’s natural beauty led her to specialize in sustainable systems design. Jean and her husband have a home in Egg Harbor, and she enjoyed a Door County residence during her childhood. Jean provided the book’s photography and content collaboration.

Getting here: We are located at 1620 Orrington Avenue, in downtown Evanston, just one block east of the Davis Street Metra, CTA, and PACE public transit stops. There is metered street parking as well as numerous parking garages nearby.
