Becoming a Storm Drain Monitor is one of the most practical ways that residents like you can help improve water quality. Every drain you monitor helps:
- Reduce pollutants flowing into Waquoit Bay and local ponds
- Prevent street flooding during heavy rain
- Show local authorities which drains need service
- Identify priority areas for more environmentally-friendly drainage systems
Waquoit Bay is an important estuary and Area of Critical Environmental Concern (ACEC) that has exceeded Nitrogen pollution limits in every year measured. Adopt a storm drain to protect Waquoit Bay!
Storm drain measuring tools available while supplies last - but they are easy to make, too!
