Donor Appreciation Night

Redbud would not exist without you, our donors. And we want to thank you!

On Saturday, April 18 at 5 p.m., we're holding a happy hour and poetry lesson at the new location of art gallery VAE Raleigh, located in a beautiful Victorian house in Raleigh's Boylan Heights neighborhood. The first 15 minutes will be devoted to wine, charcuterie, mingling, conversation, and admiring the local art on display at VAE. For the next 30 minutes, poet and Redbud instructor Josh Tvrdy will lead donors in a fun, accessible poetry lesson, inviting them to write poetry inspired by VAE's artwork. We'll wrap up at the end with a reading showcasing stories by students who participated in Redbud's Intro to Memoir @ Healing Transitions program in Jan-Feb 2026.

Donors are invited to stick around after the event for our March-April end-of-session reading, which starts at 6:30 and will feature eight Redbud students reading their short stories, poems, and essays.

Admission is free, but we ask you to register for the event so we can get a headcount.
