Donnieville’s “Heart My Community” Health & Wellness Day 2024

We invite you to join us for a joyful celebration of Donnieville Organization’s “Heart My Community” Health & Wellness Day an annual wellness and healthy living experience designed to empower and inspire the African American community! This community day outdoor fair promises a day of delicious food diverse fitness free health screenings engaging activities for all ages and a celebration of faith and community.

Key Activities To Expect:

o  Healthy Soul Food Cook-Off:  Healthy Soul Food Cook-Off - designed to engage the community generate revenue for a designated cause and foster goodwill within the congregation. It combines friendly competition culinary delights and family-friendly entertainment to create a memorable and impactful event. Participants will be able to purchase tickets to help raise money for free heart scans for African Americans in the community.

o  Cooking Demonstrations & Tastings: A renowned celebrity chef and nutritionist will showcase delicious and heart-healthy soul food recipes inspiring healthy choices without sacrificing flavor. Participants can purchase cooking classes and recipe booklets to keep the wellness journey going.

o  Group Fitness Session: A diverse and enjoyable group fitness class and cardio routine led by an inspiring celebrity instructor that will cater to all fitness levels encouraging movement and fun for everyone.

o  Kids' Health & Play Zone: A special space for children will offer fun and educational activities focused on nutrition physical movement and heart health awareness planting the seeds of healthy habits early.

o  Dedication Wall: A dedicated space for the community to share stories about loved ones and friends who were lost to heart disease and place to Honor the Life and Legacy of a Loved One. Sharing the loss of a loved one together can help to make it less difficult.

o  Free Health Screenings: Free health screenings (high blood pressure and diabetes testing along with other wellness opportunities) will be available for the community.
