April is National Donate Life Month. Come paint pottery with us while we host this awareness and fundraiser to honor those that have donated as well as the recipients! My sister Guy is one such hero! While pottery painting wasn't her jam, she was very active in helping others that were in need. She gave the ultimate gift of life after a tragic accident in 2019. I have learned a lot on this journey because of her and I am passionate about helping others save lives like she has. Two men are alive today because of Guy! Ann Roty is Sue's sister and she is a recipient of a liver. I appreciate that both Sue and I have ties to Donate Life on both ends of the spectrum. We would love to meet you and hear your Donate Life stories!
Here is what the Gift of Life is:
Gift of Life Michigan is a federally designated organ procurement organization that serves the state of Michigan as the intermediary between donors, their families and hospital staff. In collaboration with Eversight, Gift of Life provides all services necessary for organ, eye and tissue donation.
Anyone can join the Michigan Organ Donor Registry, regardless of age or health history. To join or to learn more, click on the Gift of Life website, golm.org.
A single organ and tissue donor can provide up to eight life-saving organs as well as corneas and tissue that can dramatically improve the lives of up to 75 people.
Over 100,000 people in the United States are waiting for an organ transplant.
A new patient is added to the transplant waiting list every 10 minutes.
On average, 20 people die each day in the United States waiting for a transplant

The funds that we receive from this fundraising event will help to promote educational activities regarding the organ registry in our communities, offer financial assistance to transplant recipients in need, support aftercare programming for donor families and fund innovative initiatives within Gift of Life Michigan. Please purchase a $12 minimum piece of pottery in order for your 50% to be donated back to Gift of Life. Prices vary as we have over 400 pieces of pottery to choose from ranging in price from $20-$112. Cups start at $21, salad plates and figurines $26, bowls $20 etc. and can go upwards from there depending on style and size.
Please RSVP if you wish to join us as space is limited. Your $12 deposit will go towards your project total.
