Marissa V. Knowles was born on July 17, 1992, with Sickle Cell Disease and has spent her life fighting battles most people could never imagine. She has survived multiple strokes, countless hospitalizations, and, at just 15 years old, a life-threatening sickle cell crisis that caused multiple organ failure. Doctors told her family she wouldn't survive and recommended hospice care.
Through faith, the prayers of loved ones, exceptional medical care, and incredible strength, Marissa beat the odds. Today, she continues to face Sickle Cell Disease with courage and determination.
On July 17, 2026, Marissa celebrates her 34th birthdayβ€”a milestone many believed she would never see. She is a devoted mother, cherished daughter, and an inspiration to everyone who knows her. Her life is a powerful testimony of faith, resilience, hope, and the strength to keep fighting.
