INSTRUCTOR BIOGRAPHY Xiomara Cabrera was born in Dominican Republic in August 11, 1961. Her artistic career begins in 1972 when her mother on her request takes her to Cassandra Damiron'folkloric dance school in Dominican Republic for folkloric classes. From there, she showed more interest in modern dances than folkloric dances and started taking classes in Josefina Minino'school where she showed an ability to teach. Josefina who had her for 8 years, trained her to teach and left her teaching the dance classes of the school "Danzas Folkloricas y Popu;ares Josefina Minino" at Bellas Artes in Dominican Republic, teaching Ballet, Modern dance, and Folklore.

Josefina wanted her to get more professional in the art of Ballet and registered her in Miriam Bello Ballet School (one of the best Ballet schools in her country,) where she took dance technique and Ballet for two years. In order to continue her preparation to become a dance teacher Josefina Minino registered her with one of the most acclaimed Ballet Schools in Dominican Republic: Madame Corbett Ballet School. Xiomara Cabrera was like a daughter to Josefina Minino; Xiomara Cabrera owns her knowledge and who she is today to her.

4 years after, she began dancing also in the popular group"Fantastico Latino", group formed by Josefina Minino. Xiomara Cabrera was dancing in" Fantastico Latino" and teaching at Bellas Artes at the same time.

BIOGRAFÍA DE LA INSTRUCTORA Xiomara Cabrera nació en la República Dominicana el 11 de agosto de 1961. Su carrera artística comenzó en 1972 cuando, a petición propia, su madre la llevó a la escuela de danza folclórica de Cassandra Damirón, en la República Dominicana, para tomar clases de folclore. Con el tiempo, mostró mayor interés por la danza moderna que por la folclórica y comenzó a tomar clases en la escuela de Josefina Miniño, donde demostró aptitud para la enseñanza. Josefina, quien fue su maestra durante ocho años, la formó como docente y le confió la impartición de clases en la escuela "Danzas Folclóricas y Populares Josefina Miniño", en el Palacio de Bellas Artes de la República Dominicana, donde enseñaba ballet, danza moderna y folclore.

Josefina deseaba que se profesionalizara más en el arte del ballet y la inscribió en la Escuela de Ballet Miriam Bello (una de las mejores escuelas de ballet del país), donde estudió técnica de danza y ballet durante dos años. Para continuar su preparación como profesora de danza, Josefina Miniño la inscribió en una de las escuelas de ballet más aclamadas de la República Dominicana: la Escuela de Ballet Madame Corbett. Xiomara Cabrera fue como una hija para Josefina Miniño; Xiomara Cabrera le debe a ella sus conocimientos y la persona en la que se ha convertido hoy.

Cuatro años más tarde, comenzó a bailar también en el popular grupo "Fantástico Latino", fundado por Josefina Miniño. Xiomara Cabrera bailaba en "Fantástico Latino" y daba clases en Bellas Artes simultáneamente.
