Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM) is a national campaign dedicated to raising awareness about domestic violence. It evolved from the "Day of Unity" held in October 1981, intending to connect advocates across the nation who were working to end violence against women and their children. Every October, organizations and individuals across the country unite for a national effort to uplift the needs, voices, and experiences of survivors.
