Come down to the Catfish on Fri Jan 17th to see DOM BRINKLEY and his band playing on a Naarm stage for the first time in 6 months, where they will also be helping to launch Dom’s recent single ‘Australia’. The track has been described as a ‘soulful odyssey’ that is ‘both weighty and vulnerable’- a concoction of indie rock with a hit of psychedelic rock, pop, and a sense of Australian folk clinging at the sides.
Joining Dom and his band will be NATHAN ABBEY, who has released 12 psychedelic rock albums. For this show, Nathan will be playing his album ‘VR Guitar’ in its entirety with members of Kelsey Jean & the Bad Health. ‘VR Guitar’ is a concept piece about a videogame where the protagonist is a guitar star, advancing through levels of a virtual reality game by playing the music correctly.
OVEN GLOVES will be opening the show- a three-piece band with a garagey, mathy, alt-rock flavour. They’ll be serving up some hot tracks from their recently-released ‘Time Machine’ EP, as well as some freshly-baked new tunes and reheated oldies.
