5-7pm, Free Entry.Joining Alison Ferrier in her new trio The Upshots are Alics Gate-Eastley (The T-Bones, Rich Webb band) on bass and backing vocals, and Dave Folley (Mick Thomas’ Roving Commission, Tex Perkins) on drums. Alison Ferrier’s music has been described as, “Country punk, rock and blues meets folkish melancholy and gingham country with a dash of double denim '70’s sweetness.”
The Melbourne-based musician crafts songs of nostalgia and the human condition. Ferrier’s voice is unadorned, warm and inviting, she’s a talented guitarist and an active player in Melbourne’s vibrant music scene. One third of multi-award-winning blues-powerhouse Opelousas, and more recently, experimental folk band High Ace, with husband Jeff Lang, she has also released three solo studio albums. www.alisonferrier.com
