Dolly Day in the Park: A 9 to 5 Celebration
Friday, 9/25
5:00 to 7:00 PM
Grandview Park Shelter
Free and open to the public
What better way to celebrate Dolly Parton than on 9/25, from 5 to 7?
Come join us for a fun, casual community gathering filled with Dolly music, costumes, laughter, and plenty of sparkle.
Dress up if you’d like. Big hair, rhinestones, fringe, denim, cowboy boots, sequins, pink, vintage Dolly, country Dolly, glamorous Dolly, or your own creative version. You do not have to dress up to come.
We also encourage everyone to bring something Dolly. That could be a Dolly cake, snack, record, book, photo, sign, piece of memorabilia, craft, or anything else that makes you think of her.
We’ll have Dolly music playing throughout the evening, a lighthearted costume contest, a community photo, and a place to share your favorite Dolly song, movie, quote, or memory.
At 5:55 PM, we’ll gather everyone together for a big “9 to 5” singalong.
Bring a lawn chair or blanket and something to eat or share if you’d like. This is meant to be easy, fun, and welcoming. Come for a few minutes or stay for the whole evening.
We’ll also have an optional children’s book drive in honor of Dolly’s love of literacy and kids, so feel free to bring a new children’s book to donate locally.
No tickets. No formal program. No pressure. Just a little music, a little laughter, and a lot of Dolly.
Because the world could always use a little more Dolly.
