About this Event
This weekend is dedicated to the poets ready to sharpen their brand and hone in on not just the poetry, but the business and the community. We'll gather to prepare ourselves for the next level in elevation and strengthen our relationships so that we may build more a sustainable community for poetry and its creators moving forward.
All events include free parking, WiFi, and food.
All events take place at The Little Treehouse located at 180 Jackson st ne apt 2419.
Parking is available across the street in the MLK Memorial lot Free of charge. Parking in the garage will get your car booted.
SCHEDULE:
Friday @ 7:00PM: UnMic'd: A therapeutic playdate and community dinner led by Your Friendly Neighborhood Princess, Unique is an opportunity for us to engage playfully with writing while discussing the state of current affairs in our community and transcribe a communal plan of action to maximise strengthen and improve within opportunities to create a safe and sustainable lamdscape. There will be a cypher to follow dinner. MUST have access code to RSVP.
Saturday @ 12:00PM: First Class Brunch is an opportunity to dig into the business of artistry. KJ of KJizzleENT will be coming to help attendees dial in and structure individual brand kits by providing free headshots (and yearbook pictures for our "First TreehouseTribe Class!" Concurrently is the opportunity to co-work and: film content, edit, submit applications, structure websites, etc. At 2pm B Rockstar, with 10 years as a full time artist, will then stretch our skill with a workshop dedicated to the craft of performance and building yourself as a business so that not only do you get booked for paid gigs, you keep them and are continually able to scale yourself and your presence.
Sunday @ 3:00PM: Prize Winning Poetry led by Nathan Wallace will challenge attendees to better their use of of the literary device in service of prolific story telling that is sure to élevage the poem helping to win hearts and desired recognition in a variety of arenas. Immediately following this workshop is our Game Day Wrap Party full of friendly competition, prizes, and a whole of shenanigans to celebrate ourselves and each other.
