::DOGS IN A PILE::
The sandy shores of Asbury Park, New Jersey are hallowed ground in the Northeast; the rolling waves have ushered generations of venerated musicians to worldwide acclaim. Dogs In A Pile, an eclectic quintet, has emerged as the heir apparent to the town’s rich musical legacy. Merging funk, jazz, and rock and roll with psychedelia, the band presents a completely original vibe built on kaleidoscopic soundscapes eerily reminiscent of the days of yesteryear.
The Dogs employ a unified approach to performance and songwriting, crafting aural mosaics through adept instrumentation and humble precocity. As avid storytellers, they draw inspiration from personal experiences, balancing life’s foibles with ever-present youthful sanguinity.
Dogs formed when Jersey Shore native and guitar gun-slinger Jimmy Law began playing with family friend Joe Babick (drums) at a young age. Lightning struck when they were introduced to Berklee School of Music student and bass player Sam Lucid, who immediately suggested fellow Berklee student and keyboard player Jeremy Kaplan. The addition of Berklee student Brian Murray (guitar) in 2019 made for the quintessential final piece in the Dogs’ puzzle.
A string of sold-out local shows drove the development of a massive Northeast fan base, affectionately known as the Dog Pound. As the band has traversed new territory, their astronomical rise has continued nationwide. Armed with an evolving catalog of material and cultivation of an identity unique to Dogs In A Pile, the quintet is laying down a musical and communal foundation most often associated with the scene’s most beloved acts.

ANNIE IN THE WATER - 12/28
Annie in the Water is an experience and a culture of compassion and joy. The band’s Americana Indie Rock found its roots in acoustic guitars without limits. Their songwriting, led by guitars and synthesizers overtop a ground-shaking rhythm section, offers the listener the ability to traverse across multiple genres.
Because every show is different, experiencing the music of Annie in the Water live can be compared to paddling with a river. At times you may find yourself in the calm of the flow while at other times you may be deep in the rapids while the music churns and grows in energy. With the ebbs and flows you’re reminded of the constant that you are a part of something greater than yourself, working together with the forces around you and caught in the midst of a beautiful moment in time. Each performance is another adventure.

CONSIDER THE SOURCE - 12/29
Instrumental progressive rock trio Consider the Source has been honing in on their unique sci-fi fusion sound for over a decade, but it is with their 2024 release, “The Stare” that their sonic vision is fully realized. Produced by David Prater (Dream Theater, Firehouse), the 5-song album reveals more of the heavy metal influence the band has always had while also including the improvisational and cultural elements they have become synonymous with. This new collection of material certainly showcases their cutting edge instruments and technical virtuosity but the focus here is on the songs, chock full of catchy riffs and melodies ranging from delicate and heartfelt to full on headbanger’s ball.

HILLTOP - 12/30
Hilltop is a four piece Funk Rock band based in Albany, NY. The group consists of brothers Stephen & Reid Perry, and their friends Aris Nieuwkerk and Dave Klang. The Perry brothers started playing rock music in high school with Aris, who met keyboardist/founding member George Scherck at music school in Schenectady, NY. Reid and Dave met in Dobbs Ferry, NY at Mercy College, and Stephen studied percussion at SUNY Fredonia before transferring to Mercy. The five of them eventually started playing and writing before their first show in January of 2018 and released their self titled, self produced album a year later. George left the band in 2019 but the band has continued to grow as a quartet. With over 100 shows under their belt, Hilltop shows no signs of slowing down. Each member offers a proficient, unique approach to their instrument, defining the experience. This band of young musicians is ready to spread their music and will continue to engage crowds wherever they go.
