Talk and participatory workshop exploring how housing shapes everyday life, public space, and belonging for Londoners living with dogs.
About this Event

London is home to an estimated 1.2 million dogs, yet housing policy and urban design rarely consider animal companionship. Drawing on research from two densifying neighbourhoods, the opening talk examines how people navigate smaller homes, public transport, cafés, lifts, and pavements with a dog amid shifting and often unclear rules. It shows animal companionship is largely absent from housing policy, despite its links to wellbeing, community, and social justice. The workshop will then invite participants to share experiences of inclusion, exclusion, and belonging, collectively rethinking how housing and public space shape the right to live with a dog in London.
