What to expect!!STEP ZERO: BUILDING MOTIVATION
During step zero, we'll cover building motivation, relationship, reward systems, communication for right and wrong, hunt games, searching for primary reinforcers, controls on reinforcers, capping games.
This step is all the things that come before odor.
STEP ONE: INTRODUCTION TO ODOR
Odor imprinting and building obedience to odor. Introduction to the pros and cons to different systems in detection - pairing and delayed conditioning and how to balance that between the two. Problem solving and handler skills.
There is no experience in detection required for this class. Food or toy motivation is very helpful. Dogs need to be suited to a group environment NO reactivity.
