About this Event
Good People,
These dates at the end of January are the perfect chance for us all to come together up here at Camp Earnest and enjoy some of the best skiing in the high Sierra. Plus maybe some singalongs or silent disco in the lodge.
We are season pass holders at Dodge Ridge, which in 2023 received over 70 feet of snowfall. 2 day adult passes are included when you purchase a spot at this gathering. Costs are lower than any of the resorts in Tahoe and terrain is plentiful (and steep on the back side).
Two dinners and two breakfasts are included in the ticket price, with lunches on your own at Dodge Ridge.
We recommend driving to Camp Earnest as early as you can on Friday to avoid traffic and enjoy a relaxing dinner together before we hit the slopes the next day. You can stay in a bed on campus or find your own lodging nearby. It may be a little too chilly for you to camp here at 3,400 feet of elevation. The bottom of the lifts at Dodge Ridge are at 6,600 feet and about a 30 minute drive uphill from us.
We will have the hot tub and sauna hot in the afternoons when we return from the slopes.
The best thing about this weekend will be all of you!
WHAT SHOULD YOU BRING?
Glad you asked.
We assume you know what you're doing ski or snowboard wise.
If you don't own gear, the smartest option is to rent in the Bay Area at Sport's Basement and get your stuff on Thursday, so you're ready when you drive here on Friday.
Your second best option is at Heidi's Ski Shop on your way to Dodge Ridge. You can call ahead and reserve gear. And your final option is at the resort itself, but crowds are big on Saturday morning.
Bring waterproof layers. A big puffy parka and wool hat is nice. We may find ourselves chilling at Camp Earnest in front of the Good People Lodge by the fire pit, with no snow and temperatures in the 60s. Or it may dump several feet of snow.
You should 100% come in a 4x4 or AWD vehicle and always carry chains. Winter anywhere in the Sierras can be unpredictable weather-wise. We can also carpool up to the resort to cut down on the number of vehicles.

To be announced soon.
