Presented by Mid Michigan College’s Inclusion, Diversity, Equity & Action (IDEA) Committee and sponsored by Laker Life.
Descendant tells the story of the descendants of the enslaved Africans who were brought to Alabama on an illegal ship in 1860. When the craft’s remains are discovered, the community seeks justice and healing, reclaiming history and truth in the face of generations of silence.
