Documentary Screening : Rather Be Ashes Than Dust -Birmingham「寧化飛灰」-伯明翰放映

After successful screenings in South Korea, New Zealand, Australia, and Canada, Rather Be Ashes Than Dust has garnered overwhelming support from audiences, with most screenings sold out. The film won the Best Film of Democracy on the Edge at the Doc Edge Festival (an Oscar-qualifying festival) and had its world premiere at the Busan International Film Festival. This award-winning documentary dives deep into the heart of the 2019 Hong Kong protests, told from a journalist-filmmaker’s first-person perspective. It captures the emotional and ethical struggle of reporting under the pressure of an authoritarian regime.

Experience the intense ethical dilemmas and emotional turmoil faced by journalists operating under threat while witnessing police brutality against protesters. The film highlights the critical importance of free expression and the sacrifices made in its defense.
