About this Event
The risks from rising carbon emissions and the failure of world leaders to take the big actions needed to reduce emissions fast enough makes loca l action even more important.
This series addresses how we contribute to growing emissions and two important risks we face: our food system and our health. This is critical information for everyone!
Our May event is titled: Doctors Discuss Growing Health Risks from Global Warming
Learn from doctors our greatest risks, how we can recognize and avoid them, and how we can prepare for greater risks in the future.
Meet our speakers:
- Dr. Javier Sanchez is a Family Medicine Doctor at Kaiser Permanente and an Assistant Clinical Professor at UCR School of Medicine.
- Dr. Shunling Tsang currently serves as the Deputy Public Health Officer in Riverside County and Chair of Family Medicine and Medical Director of Quality at Riverside University Health System.
- Dr. Juan Carlos Belliard is Assistant Vice President, Community partnerships, Loma Linda University, and Professor at the School of Public Health.
- Brianna Egan, MPH, RDN, is a public health nutritionist and currently a medical student. She is co-founder of LLU Students for a Sustainable Future and serves as a member of the LLUH Health Systems Sustainability Initiative.
