Released in 2010, this powerful documentary tells the true story of the Bracero Program, revealing the untold personal experiences of the men who lived it. Learn about a generation—now in their 80s and 90s—who felt compelled to work in the U.S. as survival in Mexico during the World War II era became increasingly difficult.

Come early and join a free tour (in English) at 6pm before the film screening. Our Navegantes (docents) will lead a conversation and tour through our L.A. Starts Here! exhibition, focusing on braceros' history, legacy, and continued impact. Bring your questions and stories!
After the screening, join a conversation in Spanish on how ex braceros demand justice and the return of their 10 percent savings. Ex-braceros, legislators, and representatives of the Mexican Federal Government have pointed out the need for justice for migrant workers who were hired between 1942 and 1967, and from whom part of their salary was deducted without any return up to this day.
