Elegimos iniciar en el Área de la Bahía intencionalmente, porque fue aquí donde, hace más de 10 años, las líderes y organizadoras de Mujeres Unidas y Activas (MUA) dieron vida a las primeras Las Malcriadas. Su valentía, sus voces y sus historias hicieron posible el nacimiento de Las Malcriadas Fronterizas en 2020, y hoy nos honra continuar ese legado.

¿Quiénes somos?

Las Malcriadas Fronterizas somos un círculo de mujeres escritoras dedicado a fortalecer las voces y las historias de las trabajadoras del hogar y de las mujeres inmigrantes que luchamos por nuestros derechos como trabajadoras, como migrantes, como mujeres que reclamamos la soberanía sobre nuestros cuerpos y como cuidadoras de la tierra.

Escribimos para contar nuestras propias historias, desafiar los estereotipos, promover la justicia y crecer juntas como escritoras. Nuestras historias también merecen ser contadas. Cuando escribimos —cuando compartimos con el mundo quiénes somos, nuestros desafíos y nuestros triunfos— nos negamos a ser silenciadas.

Somos Malcriadas: compartimos nuestras historias rebeldes, celebramos quiénes somos y afirmamos nuestra humanidad y nuestro poder. ¡Nuestra sanación y nuestra alegría son nuestra resistencia colectiva!

Our Oakland gathering launches a tour that will travel the West Coast to South Texas—and we're honored to begin here. We start in the Bay Area intentionally, where more than 10 years ago the member leaders and organizers of Mujeres Unidas y Activas (MUA) became the original Las Malcriadas. Their courage, voices, and stories gave rise to Las Malcriadas Fronterizas in 2020, and we are proud to continue that legacy.

Come experience a one of a kind event where we will celebrate the power of respect and inner strength. Our special guests of honor are you all, las trabajadoras del hogar, whose voices and stories are at the very heart of everything we do.

Who We Are

Las Malcriadas Fronterizas is a circle of women writers nurturing the voices and stories of las trabajadoras del hogar—domestic workers and immigrant women fighting for our rights as workers, migrants, women reclaiming sovereignty over our bodies, and stewards of the land.

We write to tell our own stories, challenge harmful narratives, inspire justice, and grow together as writers. Our stories deserve to be told. When we write—sharing who we are, our struggles, and our triumphs—we refuse to be silenced.

We are Malcriadas: sharing our rebellious stories, celebrating who we are, and affirming our humanity and our power. Our healing and our joy is our collective resistance!
