About this Event

Winter is well and truly here and the dark evenings may be limiting your running plans, especially if you are new to running. Come for an evening walk and build your confidence about running in the dark. We'll discuss some of the hazards to look out for and some of the joys of running in Winter evenings.

As this is Stage 1 of this programme we can also discuss:

  • Sources of advice and support, including apps.
  • Finding local running groups
  • The pros and cons of technical equipment, such as head-lamps and watches, and I'll show some examples.

You'll also have lots of opportunity to ask your own questions, and we'll share what we know.

Accessibility: Suitable for anyone who can walk and stand (with or without aid) for 45 minutes in sub-urban paved surfaces. The route is street-lit but lip-reading will be difficult. Discussions and directions will only take place whilst static to minimise any risk of tripping.
