DMV Healers Gather & Grow — A Collective Wellness Mixer
About this Event
Join us for the kickoff of a new Black Psychiatry Collective series — a space for mental health professionals and healers doing the work to meet.
Who's invited: Healers and professionals of every kind — not just the traditional idea of what a healer looks like. This means:
- Physicians & therapists
- Sound bath & yoga facilitators
- Musicians & artists
- Designers & storytellers
- Anyone doing healing work in community
What to expect:
- Happy hour bites
- Mocktails while supplies last (get there early!)
- Real conversation with people doing this work in the DMV
Details: 📅 Wednesday, July 22 🕕 6:00 – 8:00 PM 📍 The Continent DC, 1110 Vermont Ave NW, Washington, DC 20005
RSVP required for entry. The event is free, but we need to know who will be in the space — no RSVP, no entry.
This event is hosted by Dr. Danielle Hairston ("Dr. Dani"), a psychiatrist at Howard University Hospital. With the support of Hopelab, Dr. Dani has spent the past year building virtual healing spaces for Black youth mental wellness. After one successful cohort, she's moving into the next chapter — and she wants you to be part of it.
The Black Psychiatry Collective is looking to connect with professionals and healers interested in hosting and facilitating wellness activities for our Black & Latinx youth group, a virtual retreat space. Come meet the team, hear what's ahead, and see where you might fit in.
This gathering also honors July as Bebe Moore Campbell National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month — a time to center the mental health needs of Black, Latinx, and other communities of color.
RSVP required for entry. The event is free, but we need to know who will be in the space — no RSVP, no entry.
