About this Event
Dialect opens a new chapter Saturday, November 16th.
This time around, we're joined by a live set from the great Brontez Purnell, performing songs from his electronic solo debut, No Jack Swing. On soundtrack duties, we'll have Three6Sashia and Elias Agogo and as always, the expansive sound of our house ensemble Musele Project.
Along with his performance, Brontez will share a series of short video pieces. And we'll have selection of live experimental film programming from the artist and motion graphics designer Melanie Marie.
Hosted by Working Name Studios & Eternal Now. Flyer design by .

is a sound, image, performance, and facilitation practice that encourages deep, empathic listening. A collaborative, ever-shifting ensemble, Musele first formed around Sunday night gatherings centered on long-form, spontaneous compositions that traverse musical histories and invite exploration of interior emotionality through drone, groove, repetition and free improvisation.
is an Oakland-based DJ, musician, artist and archivist whose sets guide us through portals of groove. Working in record stores as a young person, Sasha started off on turntables with a crate digging, sample-based beatmaking approach. The selections compliment the foundations of this journey, playing lots of soul, jazz, international and experimental cuts. Working in collaboration with Bay Area community hubs like Lower Grand Radio and Unity Press, his work extends to archival projects celebrating DIY and queer history and rare, underheard music.
ELIAS AGOGO, aka Elias Foerster, is a German transplant living in Oakland, California. As a selector and DJ, Elias delves deep into a broad spectrum of dance music, creating sets and spaces in service of bass, groove and communion on the dance floor. As a composer and performer, his long-form ambient music sets combine electronic sound and alto sax. Elias recently founded the tape label All Ears Intl. and released Neuhermsheim, a collaborative release with his brother Simon Foerster on harp and himself on electronics.
