About this Event

DIY Clay Coasters & Figures is a relaxed, hands-on workshop where we'll explore the simple joy of making something with our own hands. No previous experience is needed, just a willingness to have a go.

We'll begin with tea, coffee, biscuits and a chat before introducing air-dry clay and a few easy techniques to get started. You'll have the chance to create your own decorative coaster, a small figurine, or anything else your imagination comes up with.

We'll experiment with shaping, rolling, carving and adding texture using simple everyday tools, taking our time to create pieces that are uniquely our own. Whether your style is neat and detailed or quirky and abstract, there's no right or wrong way to make.

At the end of the session, your creations will be left to dry, ready for next week's workshop where we'll bring them to life with colour and paint.

This event runs as part of our Summer at SWAMP series. Join Stravaig Creative Arts for six weeks of fun, accessible Arts & Crafts workshops. Each of the six workshops will explore a different creative method. You are welcome to come to them all or pick and choose what interests you.

Please note that children under 14 years of age should be accompanied by an adult.
