The celebrations will take place across Market Place and the Asda car park, in front of the Swan Centre.
The festival will be a colourful celebration featuring:
A variety of stalls selling Diwali-themed arts, crafts and artefacts.
A wide selection of authentic Indian food and snacks.
Lantern-making activities for children and families.
Live stage performances by talented local artists representing different regions and cultures of India.
Diwali is a five-day Festival of Lights celebrated by millions of Hindus, Sikhs and Jains around the world. It represents new beginnings and the triumph of good over evil and light over darkness, while for some communities it also marks harvest and New Year celebrations. The festival takes place between October and November each year, with the exact date changing according to the lunar Hindu calendar.
Would you like to be part of Rugby’s Diwali celebrations? Organisers are looking for stallholders, performers, community groups and organisations to get involved. Local businesses can also take part by running a special promotion during the event.
