SONIA WELCH – DIVING BIOGRAPHYI have always loved the ocean and started scuba diving in the year 2000 after doing my Open Water course in Cape Town in freezing 8 degrees of water on the Atlantic.
My dream was to dive in tropical water and in 2006, 2 years after the Tsunami, I went to Thailand on holiday and made the most of the trip by doing my Advanced Diving course there.
I since dived in Bali, Philippines, Seychelles and Australia and experienced a multitude of various creatures, underwater topography and dive conditions.
In 2015 I went on my first trip to Egypt to dive in the Red Sea and thoroughly enjoyed the experience of live-aboard diving. Since then, we have been back numerous times, exploring the diverse treasures of the South and Northern Red sea.
My talk will feature the Red Sea as a dive destination and what one can expect to experience whilst diving there.
