If you’re curious about the many initiatives related to our grant program, what intergenerational worship is all about, or how you or someone you love can get involved in our exciting grant projects, we have a weekend of events coming up for you! Save the date for our Diving Deep Grant Orientation Weekend on Saturday, May 31, and Sunday, June 1. Though we’ve already been wading into the waters of our grant program, I’m thrilled that we can share this opportunity to dive deep into intergenerational ministry together, orient ourselves to the work we’ve already begun, and share more about how our grant serves our church community and our neighbors in faith.
Together, we’ll learn about the stories and ideas behind intergenerational ministry, explore our church’s relationship to ministry with people of all ages, and celebrate intergenerational worship with guest preacher and speaker Rev. Dr. Dave Csinos. Dave is a wise, thoughtful theologian and Associate Professor of Practical Theology at Atlantic School of Theology in Nova Scotia, and I am delighted that we have the opportunity to welcome him to Bridgton for the weekend! He brings an extensive background in research, writing, speaking, and teaching about faith formation, intergenerational ministry, preaching, and ministry innovation.
Details about this weekend of events are forthcoming, so keep an eye out for more. You can expect engaging workshops led by Dave and our staff for the whole congregation, interactive consultation sessions for several of our committees and ministries, and plenty of time to dream together and discuss intergenerational ministry at First Church. Closer to May, we’ll publish a detailed schedule of events that will span the mornings and afternoons of Saturday, May 31 and Sunday, June 1– you are welcome to come to any and all sessions that you would like to attend. Catered meals and childcare will be provided!
