From paleontologist Ashby Gale, learn about the evolutionary history of marine mammals, how whales got to be in our oceans and what makes the South Carolina Lowcountry so significant in understanding dolphin's place in our oceans today. Next, Lauren Rust, founder of Lowcountry Marine Mammal Network, will explore modern dolphins and whales that inhabit Charleston's waters and the best practicies when it comes to viewing and interacting with these animals.
