Diversity in Performance Convening
DiPC is a convening of organizations and grassroots collectives that integrate diversity in the performing arts. We will meet to share how we have been making performance spaces inclusive of all identities and plan collective programming to move forward as a multi-partnership for diversity in the performing arts.
Our Purpose
Community Partnerships: Where we potentially create shared mutual aid, collaborative performances, and support each other’s events.
Diversity in Form: Where performing styles from all cultures have a platform and underrepresented artists have a stage
Accessibility: Where we provide entry points for anybody to perform, regardless of expertise or identity
Storytelling: Where we create connection and interaction between the audience & performer
Research: Where we assess and discuss what does and doesn’t work?
Community Education & Engagement: Where we provide school programming, free community classes, etc
Financial Sustainability: Where we organizing funds for performer engagement and compensation in perpetuity

When: Every first Tuesday of the month from 7:30-8:30
How: We are currently creating a resource map to determine what collaborative projects to prioritize.
We will be planning a showcase for 2027. Come be a part of the process and let your voice be heard!
