The DIVELINE PADI Open Water Course is the first course to attain your personal scuba diving licence. Your first certified scuba diving course involves home based theory, pool session, and 4 ocean dives, including one boat dive to get you to 18 metres. When scuba diving in Melbourne we require different training skills, making you a better diver from the start.Scuba Diving in Melbourne has some unique diving conditions, yet some of the world's best diving. Victoria offers a fantastic variety of dive sites for you to explore. You can discover a world of reefs, shipwrecks, caves and see some unique and stunning marine life. Most of the marine life is endemic to the Southern Reef of Australia. So take the first step!
Prerequisites:
Minimum of 10 years of age for junior open water
Minimum of 15 years of age for open water course
Need to be comfortable in the water, swim 200m and tread water for 10 minutes
Need to be in good physical and mental health
A Diver scuba diving medical is Highly Recommended. Required if you are 45 years of age and over, or if you answer yes to any question on the medical disclaimer. Go to https://www.spums.org.au/ to find a local certified dive doctor.

The Diveline PADI Open Water Scuba Diver Course consists of three main phases:
Knowledge Development (online, independent study / in the classroom)
to understand basic principles of scuba diving. Approximately 6 or more hours of study.
Confined Water Dives to learn basic scuba skills. Need to pass 24 skills
Four Open Water Dives (3 Shore Dives + 1 Boat Dive) to use your skills and explore the underwater world
On completion of the course, you will be qualified to dive anywhere in the world to a depth of 18 metres.
Diveline PADI Open Water Divers are qualified to:
Dive a maximum depth of 18 metres, or the deepest as per your training
Obtain air fills, rent or purchase scuba equipment and participate in dive activities as long as properly supervised
Continue dive training by completing the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification and taking certain specialty diver courses
Costs Include:
PADI Standard Open Water e-learning.
Use of Rental Scuba Equipment, (where required) including BCD (Buoyancy Control Device), Regulators, Computer, Weights, Cylinders and Air Fills
Pool Entry Fees
Professional PADI Scuba Diving Instructor for 3 Days
PADI Certification e-Card, most accepted diving licence in the world. Life-long licence.
One Boat Dive to 18 metres
Cost does NOT include:
Snorkelling Gear, being appropriate scuba diving Mask, Snorkel, Fins and Boots
Travel to other locations used during the undertaking of the course
