District of Second Chances Film Screening

The Maryland Second Look Coalition, in collaboration with Bowie's Pr*son Education Program, invite you to a captivating documentary screening of FAMM's District of Second Chances! Join us at Bowie State's Fine and Performing Arts Center for an evening filled with inspiring stories and powerful messages.

The film takes viewers on an emotional journey through the lives of Anthony “Pete” Petty, Gene Downing, and Colie Levar Long—three men who were sentenced to life in Pr*son during the 1990s but are now presented with a chance for freedom and a fresh start. The film brings to light the real-life impact of “second chance” legislation through the eyes of those it directly affects. In a world where justice and redemption are often elusive, District of Second Chances offers a poignant look at the journey toward hope and reform.

Immediately following the film screening, a discussion will be held with a focus on bringing second chances to Maryland through the Maryland Second Look Act.
