Distillation 101-An introduction to the art
Join me for a beginner-friendly, hands-on introduction to the ancient process of transforming aromatic plant materials into essential oils and hydrosols.
While performing a distillation of Frankincense resin, we will cover the history of distillation, different distillation methods, types of stills, which aromatic materials cannot be distilled, and which require special preparation. I will show you aromatic materials that leave a residue that is more valuable than the essential oil and hydrosol, and how to make medicine from them. There is lots to cover and my hope is that at the end of the workshop everyone will have enough knowledge to pursue their distillation dream with confidence.
