A movement workshop with guided exercises, to investigate your own personal and social rhythms and experiment with movement as inquiry.
Rhythms are everywhere: in our bodies, our habits, our labour, our relationships, our cities, and our technologies. Yet because we are immersed within them, they often disappear from perception. Drawing on the tradition of rhythmanalysis developed by thinkers such as Henri Lefebvre, Gaston Bachelard, and Lúcio Alberto Pinheiro dos Santos, this workshop explores rhythm as a way of understanding everyday life through movement, attention, and collective experimentation.
This workshop invites participants to think and move as rhythmanalysts: attending to repetitions, interruptions, intensities, routines, and disruptions within both individual and collective experience.
** Please note that these workshops are for LGBTQIA+ residents who are on low income, or experiencing financial hardship or social isolation during the cost-of-living crisis.
Date: Saturday, 11 July, 2026
