About this Event
Join us on June 13th with visual artist Carolina Boettner (ARG/DE) for a collective walk through the city to create a shared visual map of sounds and silences. Participants are invited to record sounds and moments of silence using their mobile phones in different urban locations and to find their own ways of visualising these sounds. Through this experience, participants reflect on how sound and silence coexist in everyday life. The recordings are then shared and placed on a common map, forming a collective archive of urban sound experiences. The program connects with the exhibition by inviting participants to consider how sound environments influence memory and perception, and how silence can also exist within urban noise.
In conjunction with Silence is Still Our Best Chance, a NYC apexart exhibition
