Join us for a conversation with Czech artists Epos 257 and Erika Velická and New York-based artist and experience designer N.D. Austin on how art engages with the urban environment and public space.

Coming from different artistic backgrounds, the three speakers explore how we experience, inhabit, and reshape the spaces around us. The conversation will move between artistic interventions, sculpture, immersive experiences, and unconventional uses of public and overlooked urban spaces, while considering the shifting boundaries between public and private, institutional and informal, permanent and temporary.

The talk will introduce each artist’s practice and open a broader discussion about the role of art in shaping our relationship with the city.

Epos 257 is a Czech conceptual artist whose work examines the visual and social structures of the urban environment. With roots in graffiti, his practice explores public space, ownership, legality, and the tension between art created in the city and art presented in institutional settings.

Erika Velická is a Czech visual artist, sculptor, and educator whose work combines materials such as concrete, metal, and clay to create environments shaped by personal and collective narratives. Her practice explores space, material transformation, care, and forms of feminist monumentality.

N.D. Austin is a New York-based underground experience designer and counterculture artist known for staging clandestine pop-up events, secret speakeasies, and immersive rituals in overlooked urban spaces, from water towers to abandoned railways. His work explores how unexpected experiences can transform our relationship with place, community, and the city itself.
