Disney's The Little Mermaid JR

“I wanna be where the people are. I wanna see, wanna see ‘em dancin’.” Ariel, the infamous character portrayed in Disney’s The Little Mermaid JR, sings of a world she longs to join, with “bright young women . . . ready to stand”. The story of a young mermaid who longs for a better life will be live on stage at the Gleason Performing Arts Center on the Florida Tech campus.  Presented by the Falcon Players, The Little Mermaid JR opens on Thursday, October 29 with a 10AM Matinee performance for schools, residential homes and youth organizations and a public performance at 7:00 p.m.

This classic Disney title contains all of the songs from the Academy Award® winning animated feature film as well as three new songs from the Broadway show. The Little Mermaid JR takes place in a magical kingdom beneath the sea, where a beautiful young mermaid named Ariel longs to leave her ocean home to live in the world above. But first, she’ll have to defy her father, the king of the sea, escape the clutches of an evil sea witch and convince a prince that she’s the girl with the perfect voice he’s been longing to meet.

In their fifth year, the Falcon Players have produced past shows like Elf, JR, Disney’s Aladdin JR, Peter Pan JR, Willy Wonka JR, along with non-musical pieces, like You, the Jury, You have the Right to Remain Dead, and 12 Angry Jurors.
