Interested in education, international development, public policy or a future career with a global organisation?
Join Universal Learning Solutions for a special FREE London event exploring 20 years of foundational-literacy work across Africa.
The event will examine how Jolly Phonics programmes have developed from an initial project in a government school in Akwa Ibom State into partnerships supporting teachers and children across several African countries.
Students and early-career professionals will have an opportunity to:
-hear directly from African education policymakers and practitioners;
-learn how literacy programmes are developed and delivered at scale;
-explore evidence and good practice in foundational learning;
meet education leaders, academics and international-development professionals;
-build connections with others interested in global education.
The programme will include reflections on work in Kano State, where government schools and teachers have participated in a large-scale approach to early-grade literacy.
His Royal Highness Muhammadu Sanusi II, Emir of Kano and former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, is expected to attend as Special Guest of Honour.
Whether studying education, international development, African studies, public policy, languages or another related subject, this event offers an opportunity to connect classroom practice with policy and implementation.
Places are limited, and advance registration is required.
