A butcher in Wagga, a missing English aristocrat and a claim so audacious it consumed years of courtroom drama and divided public opinion around the world.
The Tichborne Claimant is one of the strangest stories in Australian history and on Saturday 13 June, Family History Holidays is going deep on it with a full day of curated experiences in Wagga Wagga, led by guest family historian Brad Argent (from Who Do You Think You Are?, Every Family Has a Secret, DNA Journey).
The day moves through morning sessions unpacking the story and the records, a private behind-the-scenes tour of the Museum of the Riverina, lunch and a choice of two guided 90-minute afternoon experiences: a heritage walk around old Wagga, a cemetery tour, special access to the Riverina Archives or a Riverina RAAF military history tour. It closes with cocktails and canapés at The Riverine Club, joined by your guides and Brad.
It’s limited to just 20 places.
What's included: two nights' accommodation at The Houston Boutique Hotel (Friday and Saturday), all sessions with Brad Argent, morning tea, private lunch, two curated experiences and the closing cocktail event.
No Wagga connection? No problem. Curiosity is the only requirement.
