Join us for a fascinating look at Sonora’s rich history with Pat Perry, the City’s Official Historian and one of the people most responsible for preserving the stories that make our community special.Pat came to Sonora in 1984 as the City’s Finance Director—and quickly fell in love with the City’s past. What started as curiosity turned into decades of dedication: from creating walking history tours for local 4th graders, to helping write weekly history articles for the Union Democrat, later published in the beloved book Sonora Remembered.
Appointed Official Historian in 2002, Pat has continued her work as a volunteer even after retiring, researching, documenting, and sharing Sonora’s people and places from her office at City Hall.
Whether you’re a longtime local, a history buff, or just curious about the stories behind the streets you walk every day, this is a chance to connect with Sonora’s past—and each other.
