Have you ever had a glass of Vinho Verde and wondered what else Portugal has to offer?

Although small in size, Portugal is home to a huge diversity of grapes and wine styles, which makes it one of the most exciting wine countries in Europe. Thanks to its many different climates, from the colder, wetter shores of the Atlantic up north, to the hot plains of Alentejo and of course the famous Douro valley - there is so much more to discover than you may think.

At Pépites we are absolutely in love with Portuguese wine and import quite a few delicious wines directly from partner producers from all corners of the country. So if you couldn't afford the plane ticket to Lisbon this year, or if you'd like to understand this fantastic wine country a little better, I invite you to join me for an exclusive tasting of Portuguese wine in Berlin!

In this introductory workshop, we will explore the biggest Portuguese wine regions, and the grape varieties and wine styles that they produce. Together, we will taste and describe 5 different still wines (white and red) that are representative of these styles, and learn some of the vocabulary and words associated with them so you can shop and order Portuguese wine more confidently.

This is a great event for anyone who has an interest in wine and would like to better understand Portuguese wine, or just discover the selection available in our shop. The workshop is intended for complete beginners and intermediate alike, and requires no other pre-requisite than curiosity and a thirst for wine!

The ticket includes:

- 5 glasses of wine (white / red)

- Finger food, apéro style (Please inform us in advance of allergies or dietary restrictions) / water

Attendance is limited to 12 people . Tickets are fully refundable up to 48 hours prior to the event, and partially up until 24 hours before.

About your workshop instructor: My name is Anaïs and I am the owner and sommelière at Pépites, the new neighbourhood wine shop on Stargarder Strasse. I come from the Michelin gastronomy worls and was previously the lead sommelière at Restaurant Bricole in Berlin. I am a passionate lifelong learner with a past in tech, events and even cheesemongering, and my areas of specialty include France, Portugal and Germany. I have roots in Paris, as well as the beautiful regions of Bordeaux and La Rochelle, so I am an Atlantic coast lover through and through!
