About this Event
An In-Depth Tasting of Italy’s Iconic Grape
Often called “the king of wines and the wine of kings,” Nebbiolo is one of the world’s most captivating grape varieties—bold, aromatic, and built to age.
In this deep-dive class led by certified sommelier Jason Forbes, you’ll explore what makes Nebbiolo so revered among wine professionals and collectors alike. We’ll trace its history, dig into its viticulture, and highlight the legendary winemakers who helped define its style.
Through a guided tasting of benchmark Nebbiolo wines—from Barolo and Barbaresco to Gattinara, Ghemme, and international expressions—you’ll learn:
- What gives Nebbiolo its unmistakable character
- How growing regions and winemaking choices shape its style
- How to identify high-quality Nebbiolo (and similar wines at friendlier price points)
Perfect for wine enthusiasts ready to go beyond the basics and explore the nuance behind one of Italy’s most iconic varietals.
