Here is another fantastic opportunity to see and learn about shorebirds, gulls, terns and skimmers on Disappearing Island. Our wonderful Michael Brothers who discovered this excellent birding spot has moved out of the area, but Halifax River Audubon Society president Joan Tague has stepped up to lead along with Marine DIscovery Center's naturalist and other birders who may want to join.
We will travel in the Marine Discovery Center's pontoon boat to this island at the mouth of Ponce Inlet, that is inundated by the tides and populated by an amazing variety of resident and migratory birds.
In March a pelican and egret rookery is also an exciting phenomenon, and we will make a stop by. Great photography opportunities.
Time of this trip is being set by Marine Discovery Center based on the tides and more details are to come, but mark your calendar.
