About this Event

DISABLED DREAMERS...

In Pain and Insane is excited to host “Disabled Dreamers” , a two-part event for Wild Pride 2026! The first part is a panel discussion which will be facilitated by Allie Pauld about arts and accessibility for disabled queer artists.

Allie Pauld (she/her) is a Tiohtia:ke (Montreal) based activist, educator and artist. As a disabled queer Black woman, Allie's work focuses on body politics, disability, gender, sexuality, and race. She has conducted original research on the intersections of these different topics. Panelists will share about:

- hardships they've faced being queer and disabled performers/artists,

- successes they've had,

- how their crip and queer identities are present in their art,

- what they want to see improve in terms or disability inclusion in our queer artistic spaces, etc.

After the panel discussion, we will move into the variety show which will be closed to Disabled/Sick/Mad/Neurodivergent/d.Deaf performers/artists with a priority given to BIPOC performers. The variety show will spotlight queer disabled talent.

Performer lineup is coming soon!

Let’s dream and build together in a world where disabled bodyminds are not given the privilege of desire and dreaming. We can't wait to connect in our pain, insanity, and joy.

NOTAFLOF

In Pain and Insane aims to keep our events as financially accessible as possible with the understanding that fully accessible events are much more costly to have. We offer all of our events as NOTAFLOF (no one turned away from lack of funds) and the main organizers do not get paid for organizing these events. Folks who have more financial privilege are asked to pay more in order to keep this event accessible to low/no income community members. Please see "The Green Bottle" to have an idea where you fall under a "sliding scale".

Low tier: $0-$10
