Disability Pride Washington

We are thrilled to announce that in 2026, we will be hosting our first-ever Disability Pride Washington! Voices for Independence is partnering with Disability Pride Pennsylvania to bring this event to the disability community in Southwestern PA. Disability Pride Washington will take place on Tuesday, July 14, from 10am-2pm in Washington at the Downtown Community Pavilion (139 S Main St, Washington, PA 15301).
Individuals with disabilities live, work, create, and lead in every corner of this state-- yet too often our communities are overlooked when it comes to accessible, disability-led public events. Disability Pride Washington is about showing up locally and saying clearly: disabled people belong here, and our stories, culture, and leadership matter everywhere.
From the very beginning, this event is being created with access, not retrofitted later. Accessibility is built into every decision—from location and layout to communication, programming, and community partnerships. Individuals with disabilities are at the planning table, lived experience guides our choices, and access is treated as a shared value rather than a checklist.
Disability Pride Washington will be a joyful, welcoming celebration grounded in connection, visibility, and pride. It’s an opportunity to uplift local disabled voices, build lasting relationships, and create a space where people can show up fully as themselves.
Save the date and stay tuned for more information on how to register-- We hope you’ll join us in making this inaugural celebration a powerful example of disability-led community and access done right. Together, let's make Disability Pride Washington 2026 an event to remember.
