About this Event
Greater Manchester faces increasing climate‑related flood risk, and ensuring that preparedness and response systems work for everyone is a shared regional priority. International commitments such as the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and the Sendai Framework require the UK to involve people with disabilities in all stages of disaster planning and decision‑making. This workshop brings together disability organisations, emergency services, local authorities and environmental agencies to explore current practice, share lived experience, and identify opportunities to strengthen inclusion and collaboration across the system. It also forms an early step in shaping a forthcoming doctoral project on disability‑inclusive flood governance in the UK.
Please note: Timings are currently 13:00-16:00 but may be subject to change.
