This special presentation is co-sponsored by the Southeastern Chapter of the Appalachian Mountain Club and the Friends of the Norwell Public Library. Find out about the first woman to solo thru-hike the 2,050-mile Appalachian Trail. Emma Gatewood was 67 years old in 1955, had raised 11 children and survived domestic abuse when she took off on her FIRST hike on the AT. She later went back and did it two more times! See the story of this historic hiker in this Emmy-nominated documentary. Pizza will be served prior to the film and a discussion will follow afterward.
