Dine & Discovery: Knife Skills with Chef Matt Jones
About this Event
Looking to sharpen your knife skills? Join Chef Matt Jones and Tony Evans of Hometown Hone for a workshop where you'll learn safe knife handling, essential techniques, proper care, and how to choose the right knives. You'll also get hands-on practice making dinner with your neighbors.
Bring your knife from home to get sharpened! During the workshop, Hometown Hone will be able to sharpen one knife per guest while we practice our skills with Chef Matt, before demonstrating knife care while we enjoy our dinner. Please transport your knives safely!
When he’s not teaching or supporting our Makers as ANC’s Kitchen and Facilities Coordinator, Chef Matt runs his own food truck, Fifth String Food Truck, serving up tasty handhelds and poutine.
Please be sure to wear comfortable clothes and close-toed shoes for working in the kitchen. Hair that is shoulder-length or longer needs to be tied back.
Parking is available in the lot on the east side of the center, as well as on the surrounding streets, Kalamazoo, Allen and Shepard.
If you have any questions about the class or would like to inquire about dietary accommodations, contact Abie Kopacz at [email protected] before purchasing your tickets.
